What is your backup GPS solution?

Nice find. LOL I bought this for $52. It has a North American Gold chart card in it; that's worth 50 bucks to me.

I currently have two with regular use patterns, but a third will make a solid replacement if one fails or I lose one. The things are built to mil-spec and are tough as nails. The fact that is has a wide-area chart makes it a no-brainer.

Not many know it, but GeoNav is actually a company created by Navionics and its founder Giuseppe Carnevali to help validate and promote the idea of stand-alone marine cartography. Untill then GPS hardware people like Garmin, Magellan, and Trimble thought hardware called all the shots.

Giuseppe is a truly brilliant dude. He was just honored at the last NMEA show with the Alan J. Freedman Memorial Leadership Award.
