What is this knob for?

This knob/dial is located on the port locker in the aft cabin of my 2005 C-387. It's not a dimmer, volume control, or thermostat. Any ideas on what it could be?

I have a 2004 C387... does not have that "knob".. look behind it, there must be wires... did you ever find out what is was??

We have a 2004 C387 and I agree that this knob is specific to your boat - we don't have one. That's a weird place to put a control knob.

The logo on the side of the knob is from a stereo/audio company called PolyPlaner. I think they are most well known in boating circles for speakers. Hope this helps.
