Venture 17 boom vang?

i have a Venture 17 that has what looks like one end of a book vang about a foot in on the boom but I do not see anything to attach it to on the mast. I will upload a picture as soon as I figure out how to do that. Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this?

You can get a bail that has a spread width about the size of your mast cross section and attach it to your mast with a bolt through the single hole in the bail. Attach the vang to that and to the attachment point on the boom. The bail will swivel according to the angle of the vang so that it is a perfect angle on the bail which pivots on that one bolt.
