Heading into our second season with our Trimaran, we have some interesting changes and corrections we would like to make:

Install new centerboard.
Motor pod lift rig.
Rudder lift control lines.
Outrigger hauling lines led aft.
Lower the outriggers.
Wire mast lights.
Wire windspeed meter
Wire instruments
Finish countertop.
Paint hull.
Replace mast step.
Rig new outboard steering.
Bottom paint.
Barrier coat and bottom paint the centerboard.
Close bolt holes in hull.
Close hole in transom where winch was mounted.
Remove through hulls from marine head.
Fix / investigate crack in interior hull liner at the leading edge of the centerboard trunk.

Hmmm... broken centerboard + crack in fiberglass hull liner at the leading if the centerboard trunk... connected? Or is it that the mast compression post pushes down on the leading edge of the centerboard trunk that cracked it? I already inspected the bottom of the boat, and I see no crack there, and she did not take on water.

So yes, we have some pretty involved projects. I plan to take 2 weeks of in April and hire a helper to complete them all.

Thanks,
Andrew

I’m about 2 weeks away from splashing in. This was the first off season with this boat so I have had a long priority list. I’ve been working on her all winter.

1- Reglassed the rudder
2- Replaced the gear control line.
3- Repaired my auto helm unit.
4- Gel coated a boo boo from last season.
5- Fresh stuffing in the gland.
6- Replaced all filters and anode.
7- Compounded and waxed the hull.
8- Fresh bottom paint and zincs.

I have more to do but it can wait until she is in the water.

Oh I forgot. Over the winter I replaced the sail drive bladder, stern light for a led one and put in a sender and gage for the water tank. No more running out in the middle of a shower.

Spring commissioning just took a new turn: Prep for my longest journey to date, a couple hundred miles to Traverse City
I have a new mainsheet traveler, propane locker to install, and am sewing a new mainsail cover. Some of those will need to wait.

Since ours lives in the water, it's mostly cleaning. Then again there never seems to be a limit on projects.

Hauling on wed. Patching a 1” hole just above the waterline that is a failed propane vent experiment. Redesigning the propane tank installation with small tanks on the stern pulpit. Bottom paint and one notch adjustment on J-prop.

I won’t even begin to prep the boat for launch until after May 15! Its in Michigan and I’m in Virginia.

Then my list includes:
Remember to pick up sails from the repair loft in Deltaville.
Pick up Raymarine adapters for MFD. (ordered, not here yet)
install the new prop.
Replace water pump impeller.
Replace engine belts
Replace both batteries Due to age
Install the radar that didn’t get done last year.
put instrument pod back on pedestal.
scrub and wax the hull
Scrub the deck
Paint the bottom
Reinstall lifelines
Reinstall wheel.
Put all safety equipment back aboard

etc.
Seems like it takes longer every year.

All I have to do is think about commissioning and the weather turns to S#\t.

I'm switching from a Velocitek ProStart to a Shift racing compass, and at the same time switching mast mounts. The Raymarine/Tacktick mount is MUCH nicer then my old KVH mount and has more room behind it to allow boom lines to run. It looked like the hole patterns would match, but frustratingly they do not, and even worse the Shift pattern runs along the wide groove on the face of the bracket. Some fabbing to be done. Grrr.

10. Sand / scrape / paint bottom 2 gallons WM CPP BOGO free !
11. Buff & wax hull and top sides
12. Wash and seal Bimini and dodger with 303 and install

I’ve never seen pollen caked on so thick or hard to scrub off.
It's awful here too...it started the middle of last week and it's 1/4" thick on my screened porch. Fwiw, water "cakes" it... using a leaf blower to blow the worst of it off first makes scrubbing a lot easier.

We cleaned our boat yesterday. I’ve never seen pollen caked on so thick or hard to scrub off. But here’s the plus side. I love our backyard.
Where is the pond???
I’m not green and have a pond. Note if you look carefully you’ll see a Canadian Goose that has built a nest on the back of the pond. We have a Swan Decoy coming today to scare them off. Just doing my part to try and keep your many cousins living here alive.

This is our time of year for great sailing and usually stop sailing
end of June and go north July August and Sept in our RV and visit with family.
I love my mantis 35 lb and 90’ chain sets first time and holds like
cement, have 2-195 watt solar off arch to rear of Bimini and solid like a rock and we are out anchored 3 weeks 2 times a year plus many 3-4 days and more.
Love my solar and use Gen so much less.

As soon as the doctors allow it with my back, stat repairs on Tehani from Hurricane Harvey. Nothing major- new spreader to replace broken one (have to lower mast)), some missing toe rail, sadly with genoa track attached and total rework of her bright work. I am so very lucky she's still afloat!!
