I suppose one could attach trap wires from the lower-rear shroud wire, but I do not think that it would be a good idea. What happens if you or your crew looses footing? It would be difficult to bring the hiking stick through the cockpit when tacking. On Hobies and boats without backstays, we simply flip the hicking stick around back when tacking. David
