Anyone ever had this problem? At 1500 rpm hear "moderate grinding" noise in
forward gear. Any other rpm no problem. Reverse gear works fine. Facts:

2003 year model C310
M25XPB eng
455 hours on eng
Tranny Hurth original ZF 5M
Eng mounts tight
Tranny fluid full and clean - replaced Aprl 2017 about 28 hrs since
Damper replaced 7- 2014 (three years ago)
Shaft appear in line

Any thoughts appreciated.

Is the noise at 1500 RPM only? Does it go away at higher speed?

down below checking.

In July 2014 replaced with Sachs Damper Plate # 10 1866 061 001. Ordered through MER Equipment
Company, 338 W. Nickerson St., Seattle, WA. They appeared very familiar with this tranny, eng,
combination.

That is the plate with the metal springs not the plastic ribbon so I would think it's fine. I would look more at the transmission. Have you ever done an analysis on the transmission fluid? If not give that a try and see if it picks up anything. Ideally you would want a couple of samples to compare the results. I used to do mine every year when I changed the fluid before we left the states. Now the logistics are harder being in the Caribbean.
