Just joined forum. Been watching for a few months and had to register to respond to this.
Just renewed insurance. renewal quote went from $870CAD to $1415 (160%) due to "heavy losses in marine insurance". Never had a claim, surveyed 2018 with all improvements done.
Shopped around and got better coverage at $950.
insurance is current value, liability, under insured, towing, etc.

Welcome to the forum. I recommend you shop for "agreed value". Current value is likely to put you in a bad position as it will not cover your replacement or repair cost if you have a claim.
