Hi All: My first post here. Hate to start on a negative note, but my new TACKTICK T 108 system has recently begun to freeze on my wind indicator display. The problem is intermittent. My analog display unit battery is fully charged, I'm not able to ascertain the battery status of the wind unit itself. The unit never turns itself off, wind speed seems to indicate correctly, but the wind direction arrow freezes up. I know Raymarine just took over this operation, and there will probably be some confusion and poor support for the foreseeable future. Where do I start troubleshooting? The HEALTH menu shows a signal strength of 3.3 from the wind unit, so there is communication apparently going on between units. I hate this stuff..... is there any support available at the moment?? this thing is 2 months old :( Ron Waclawik Sea Dog Newport 27S Watkins Glen, NY.

Why does everyone want "wireless?"

The more "wireless" stuff I get, the more I want wires. There are so many radio waves bouncing around that many wireless devices are intermittant. What's wrong with a wire?
The other day I was watching an electrical engineer give a public talk using a computer projector. He had a fancy new wireless remote to signal his laptop to advance the powerpoint slide. It didn't work properly from the getgo. Sometimes it didn't advance at all, sometimes it would jump forward three slides. He was so close to the laptop he could have just hit the keyboard buttons, but no....he had to prove it would work!! It never did.
Give me wires.

If it's only two months old is should still be covered under their warrantee. Try calling Ocean Equipment at 949-588-1470. If they can't help you they will be able to direct you to some who can. If you can't get any satisfaction try contacting Raymarine. They usually have great support services.

My nav guy installed a TackTick wind indicator on my Hunter 31 in Jan 2011. Works great. Suggest having a nav specialist look at the install.

This is not the first time I have heard of issues like this. I would call Raymarine their support is pretty good.
