Great. Should be plenty of anchoring room in Mark Bay this time of the year. Worth a brewski stop at the Dinghy Dock Pub.

Also, if you've never been through the museum, well worth the time. Very interesting history well documented by the museum staff. Still some evidence on Newcastle Island; air ventilation shafts, etc. What a struggle to earn a meager living mining coal beneath Mark Bay.

Newcastle Island;
Newcastle is one of my favourite places, more so when the kids sailed with us . I think I was the Dinghy Docks first customer so many years ago!

One year our little flotilla decided to return south along the east side of Vancouver Island rather than our customary Sunshine Coast route. You know, Comox, Deep Bay, etc. Tried it once and so, so. Did not stop at French Creek, but the marina looks nice. Could not find a place to anchor at either Deep Bay or Comox so ended up in the marina. Such is life.

One night at Jedediah Island Marine Park. Did a little kayaking etc then moved over to Boho Bay on Lasqueti Island to sit out a 30kt. gale last night. Moved on to Comox today, thought we would get to sail in the N.W. wind but it died early this morning. S.Easterly filled in this afternoon so got a bit of a sail into Comox.
