I have a Catalina 400. Has anyone out there put on a self-tending jib on this, or a similar boat? I'm interested in how it works for you and the type of rig you installed. Does it have a boom (jib boom) or is it loose footed? Is the track on the cabin top, or is it raised and curved? How does the boat perform in various wind conditions with this rig?
My main reason for this is that at my age (66 years old), i'm slowing down a bit. I want to continue single handing and sailing with my wife. I thought a self tending jib might just be a bit easier.
