I did notice the Drums were inside a plexiglas "shield"? First time I have ever seen something like that. A percussion instrument with a shield to dampen?

Plex is used to try and isolate them sound wise, from microphones that need to be turned up to capture quieter instruments. You don’t want the drums leaking into everything, makes it hard to mix.
