well, when your in the wilds for weeks at a time with a good crew, it's nice to be off watch for a bit and relax. that is what the picture is of. the crew snapped the shot. i have kept the boat 1966. aeolus is a grand old 'camper' that takes a crew to run. more modern 'condo boats' need and usually have less numbers aboard. allowing all time apart is part of the mix of having 6 or 8 aboard on 42'. lots of exploring. we like to conquer unmarked islands and claim them and then move on with our quest for exploring new lands.
so we were sailing through a maze of wild islands in georgian bay when we saw a huge wooded sign on a bluff of an empty island. we rounded about and put her in irons just off the beach. i ordered the entire crew to swim in and read the sign and report back to me. so off they went.
the sign said that at this very spot, explorer, daniel de champlain, proclaimed that he had found the inland seas in the early 1600's. well, we stole that island back and claimed it for ourselves.

I know a little about sail trim, almost nothing about spinnakers and know slightly less about Mizzens than I do about spinnakers.

Just throwing this out there: Oyster 50. Different than the 'classic w/teak trim' boats. Like the deck salon design in a larger boat. Again, it's a different animal. But still nice lines with great livability below.
