restoring windows on 74 venture 17,was thinking of cutting plexiglass larger to fit in aluminum frame then using silicone to hold them in,original rubber gaskets were rotted.has anyone restored these windows before?

Hi, I just happened to find the replacement gaskets for those windows. Here: CRL Glazing Vinyl; 11/32" Channel Depth, and much more from TechnologyLK.com.

When I replaced mine I took the old ones in to the local plastic shop and they cut the new ones for me. You can cut them yourself fairly easily but I went the easy route. I was not able to find the rubber gasket so I bonded mine into the aluminum frames. I think it was Sikaflex 291 that I used. If you use a sealant, whatever you use make sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions. Mine are still well sealed after about 10 years but a boat neighbour used the same stuff without proper preparation and did not have good results. Don't use silicone!
