Replacement cabin lights

Are they really 42mm? The tape measure indicates 1.5" = 38mm

I found a bunch of red 38 mm also on Amazon. The 42s fit, they just push the end tabs out a ways. Possibly a little brighter if they've got more LEDs on them?

I would pull a bulb out, and put it down on a millimeter ruler, to be certain.

I found festoon LEDs at Amazon that are perfect fit for the Dome light in the head and in the stern compartment behind the access door. A subjective look indicates they provide more lumens than the incandescent they replace. They come six to a package so give some to your fellow C-310 owners.

They are $10 for six. Direct replacement for the incandescent festoons, and provide more light. Six of each are sufficient for all the dome lights in the C-310: head, shower, fuel tank compartment. The dome lights each have two (2) white festoons bulbs and one (1) red bulb.

I found an LED replacement for the light in the head at West Marine. It replaced the whole unit with an LED unit. It matched the light and had white and red. A couple of screws and hook together two wires and I was done. Also, it was a lot cheaper than buying replacement bulbs.

I don't know why one would spend $28 plus tax for one dome light when one can obtain six (6) white or red LED festoon lights from Amazon, which are drop in replacements for the OEM incandescent bulbs. Thus, for $20 (shipping was free when I ordered), you can do the dome light in the head, shower ,and stern compartment (with three of the red LEDs left over).
