The badly damaged USS Yorktown CV-5returned to Pearl Harbor for repair. Rapid return/repair to Pearl Harbor, she set back to sea with contractors aboard and was lost in The Battle of Midway. That battle is considered one of 15 most Decisive Battles in World History. The repair delay actually made the Yorktown a decoy, thus confusing the Japanese , who thought she was sunk in The Battle of Coral Sea.
