Well, for those of us who have a warning alert on our fly's zippers, maybe the answer is to lock the ignition key in a box near the raw water seacock. That key would be on a floaty similar to the device used to raise the Concordia.
Thought I would offer, some people put the single ign key on a floaty keychain and hang it on the raw water valve handle. You turn on the water and remove the key. While turning on that valve, take a look at the rest of the shaft seal and look for oil/water/debris that has possibly entered the compartment.
