Somehow, I snapped a blade off my prop. Does anyone know the proper size and pitch for a Hunter 31 (Yanmar 3YM20, winged keel, furling rig)? Want to replace the existing 3-blade prop. Does anyone have a preferred source?
On my 1983 H31, I have a 2 blade prop being driven by the same engine, on a 1" shaft, with a transmission ratio of 2.62:1, and mine is a 14" RH prop, with a 14 pitch. I will eventually move to a 3-blade prop (probably a Campbell Sailor), and keep this one as a spare. You may want to check with a marine salvage yard (we have lots in Florida) to potentially save some money, once you select the size and pitch.
My h326 with 2GM20F had a stock 2blades 15"D X10"P. Switched to Campbell Sailor Prop 3blades 14"D X 7"P for smooth motoring, Then to Flex-O-Fold 2blades 15"D X 12"P for low drag sailing, And finally a Kiwi Feathering Prop 15.5"D X 8deg? (lowest pitch, unscrew fully) for smooth motoring and low drag sailing.
Campbell Sailor is suggesting a three blade 13x8 as a replacement. They say they are no longer making 2 blade props.
