Weekend sail went pretty good despite the 90+ deg temps! Dang we skipped spring and went right to July already in the valley. Did a bit better with my sail handling, wind was light with 5-10 and gust 10-15. A couple of casualties of the weekend were the mono filament line for the Dutchman, snapped them both. They were worn and I figured they weren't going to last and I honestly still don't have adjusting them correctly. My big frustration is the sail cover isn't designed to have them set. Sail cove is original and not in bad shape, so a couple of zipper or Velcro slits could solve it, but I might just order an entire Mack Pack instead and be done with it.
I do need to do some investigation, every now and then I get coolant / AF under the motor. Not a lot and easily cleaned up with a couple of paper towels. It is funny because I've been out a couple of times and nothing collected then this time after the boat sat for almost 2 weeks there was a small pool. The overflow tank is fine, maybe a bit low because of the amount of sitting in the engine bilge and the hoses seems pretty good. HX might be the issue so I'll need to get in and take a closer look with some mirrors and camera to check when I replace the 2 original hoses.
I also seem to every now and then get a pool of clean water in the after bilge section. The hot water tank doesn't seem to be leaking since that area is dry. Seems to be coming from the fridge, which I do leave running on shore power to keep drinks cool when we get out to the boat. I ran the shower sump pump and saw water being sucked out, but I wonder if the long 2 weeks stretches causes some condensation that overflows to the bilge? I get AC condensation in the forward bilge because the drain line is routed there. I've done my research so I'll eventually get the Defender kit to tie it to the discharge line with the check value system that others seem to like a lot.
My wife really likes the AC on shore and really wants to consider having it while we try a few of the planned cruises this year. The club format is usual to cruise to a location and stop for food or tour and then raft up together. I've never down a raft up before so I was wondering if I picked up a Honda Generator would it be too much noise and bother other boats next to us? An installed generator would be cool, but probably not financially practical right now.
