Non-racer deliberately interfering with racing.

For that matter, many clubs (ours included) welcome anyone to the race member/non-member. You can join the race, fully participate and even win some trophies (some are reserved for Members only). Ask? if your curious, sail by the committee boat before the race and ask if you can join. Or, check the club website for details on upcoming races and see their posted NOR's Those will let you know what races are "Open" and which ones are for members only.

Good way to have some fun, learn more (sometimes better) sailing techniques and meet people. Who know, you may even decide to join the club if its inviting enough.

Racing is a funny thing, some days you never want to do it again, other days things fall in place, you land in last place and still have the time of your life.

(lets face it: if there are two sailboats in the same stretch of water there's SOME racing going on...)
Druid, well said.

On the other hand, if he keeps doing it sink him.
Really
So if someone exhibits a behavior you do not condone, your answer is too destroy that persons property?
And worse, sinking a boat runs the risk of taking a human life. You never know who might be aboard.

So far we have racers suggesting throwing garbage at people and sinking boats as a solution to an annoying behavior.

And we wonder why non-racers have issues with racers.

I took it as being facetious, and gave the post a "like", for the humor value.

The guy is a recent arrival at the marina and has expressed disdain/contempt at invitations to join the sailing club and participate in our regular races.

I'm going to bring it up with our club Commodore and see if the two of us can try a gentle approach to see if we can get the guy to join the club and actually race with us.
I'd guess he's getting tired of the invitations ... he just doesn't want to join. ;) Have you not got the message yet?

What goes around comes around? Did something go around to cause this weird response?
