Newport Harbor as a Christmas-New Year's Destination

The southern California weather will be good, especially for power boaters (i.e., little wind), this weekend and the week spanning Christmas and New Year's days. The beautiful, relatively near harbor has one public year-round anchorage good for a five-day stay, and a fairly new Marina Park development not far from the anchorage. We'll swing lazily on the hook for a few nights with zero apprehension of Santa Ana winds or North Pacific cold fronts moving through.:) I'm leaving the companion-way hatch boards off tonight in the hopes that Saint Nicholas will soon be here.

Here are the ditties in case you have not seen.

"...a Speedo that covered just a fraction of him.
I was shocked and astonished. What could I say?
I also go boating dressed exactly that way."

To stay at the new Marina Park in Newport Harbor you have basically a one-page form to fill out--"Guest Slip Agreement"--accompanied by seven (7) pages of "Terms and Conditions" and "Marina Regulations" that you're supposed to read.
