The old engine instrument panel on my Catalina 309 was cracking and looking ragged. I got a piece of black starboard at a nautical flea market and cut it out and mounted the instruments. Looks great. It no longer has any labels...but I kinda know what everything is. The price of a new piece of plastic with all the Catalina markings on it was outrageous...(pics of old and new below)

Can use Labeling machine to make new labels like the ones that says "Open engine seacock" above :)

Maybe make white printing on clear address labels. Better yet, gold print if your printer can do it.

Finish with clear highlight Catalina logo with colored paint if you want. Only thing I did wrong could have used finer sand paper.

Thanks folks - lots of great ideas. Like I say - I kinda know what each thing is, and don't mind not having labels. If I try some o the ideas - I'll add more to the post. (KH3412 - that really looks great!)

Not sure if anything adhesive will stick very long to the starboard but I could be wrong. You might want to make labels and adhere them to another material and then screw that to the starboard. Maybe small pieces of lexan or acrylic if you can get some scraps from a place like select plastics.
