Can someone tell what this is for or what it is. Was on our Cat 30 that we had purchased from previous owner. Can’t seem to find where it might be from.

Interesting tool.

Has anyone here used one? Would be great to make emergency replacements for most hose clamps on the boat. How durable are the clamps?

it's a tape measure, you can use it to determine length of items or calculate area of spaces with a little math.

....the thing next to it has been answered above.
ALLOWISHISH What a GREAT answer !!!!!!!

Yes I use the tool often. Makes a superior hose clamp and always of the proper size.

That was so cool, I gotta get one! It could be a little tough to use in tight spaces.

I agree with Allowishish. It is a tape measure, I have about half a dozen of those things. So very useful. I have them in SAE, Metric and Both.

Though this one is apparently called a "tape rule" I wouldn't have imagined that Stanley, of ALL companies could get that wrong.

Ironically, I’ve had the winter issue of Cruising Outpost on my coffee table for about a month and have been saving it for a flight out to Seattle and back.
Flew out today and on page 28 there is a half page add for the ClampTite.

After this thread I think I’ll have to add one to my tool kit.

Measure wire? Never... just SWAG.
If not enough pull another length off the roll. Or just cut off the extra and stuff it in the “short length bin”.

Yep, just pull a good length of wire off the roll and secure your hose. You’ve just saved yourself the cost of one of those fancy $6 hose clamps! Do two hoses and you get a free beer.
