Thanks, been working ok for last 3 years, fingers crossed, cause I am in slip all the time (easier to sneak out for sail on a whim) and do not like having to drop the mast to fix stuff.
Well after years of having a stainless 3 foot spike on a metz base I discovered this racing model antenna which is low profile and much cheaper than the other one.
BTW the racing version works just as well as the standard 3 foot stainless, plus you have an enormous advantage over the 9 ft fiberglass models mounted on deck or cockpit coaming, better ground plane and increases range quite a bit.
