Mast foot

on my H 26 when I rake my mast back to 6 inches should the foot be flat I seem to be point loading where the pin goes through mast,not seated on the front side is this right? Or should I adjust Forestays so the foot is flat on base

Well know issue with many masts, but not a huge problem. Assuming a 30 foot mast, the base is only tilted slightly less than1 degree. Selden actually makes a curved mast foot that cradles into a like-curve mast base to avoid this.
