Ditto to what Roland said. Also, make sure all the sail adjusting lines are loose, mainsheet, vang, outhaul. Possibly the main will go higher....

Yes, if the mainsheet or vang are not loose the main will not go up all the way. Don't know what your experience is but, this is a common mistake easily made by newbies and occasionally by some non-newbies. No insult intended.

Yeah, I forgot about the topping lift once. Couldn't get my sail up until I removed the topping lift. After that, piece of cake.

Also check the leach line going up the leach of the sail. Make sure it is also loose.

It looks like the bolt rope in the luff shrunk. Bring the sail to your sailmaker and have them ease it.

My money is on the leach line to tight or topping lift not let out. The picture shows scallops all along the leach (free edge of sailfor you landlubbers).

Why is there a line on the leech clipped to the topping lift? Or am I not seeing correctly?
