Seems my leech of my main sail is rubbing on my back stay- all adjustments on forestay doesn't clear it.. Should I lengthen backstay?

If your sail is original try this.
First level the water line.
Next use the main halyard to hang a weight just above the deck in a shallow pan of water
You are looking for 4 inches from the mast aft fir a starting point
adjust as needed

May want to have a local sailmaker look at it. On my M25 I had an oversized main for racing and the leech/roach area was bigger to take max advantage of sail area for my PHRF rating. Is it hanging up on the back stay or rubbing when tacking? Sailmaker can either cut down the roach area or provide addl chafe protection in the area it touches.

Thanks for the suggestion. The sails are not original. Had those replaced by Haarstick. As we had snow in April, I didn't get boat into water until recently and just noticed the problem @ the dock when I was rigging for shakedown outing. No wind, therefore taking her out asap to see if it happens underway. I'll post findings.
