I knew it Would Happen
Took a few days longer than I expected but I was sure it was coming. FYI It was a bided contract and it was awarded years ago to have something already set up just for this sort of eventuality. Now if the City and State Governments had their collective stuff together there would not be hundreds of school buses in five feet of water. The Federal Government cannot waltz in and start doing things unless invited by the state. The last time the Federal Government went into New Orleans uninvited it was 25 April 1862 by a guy named Farragut. Another note for those of you who are not up on it's structure the National Guard is controlled by the State. The governor is the Commander in Chief of it's states National Guard unless activated by the president and then can only be done for so many days without approval of Congress. Sorry Phil, I tried to make it just factual with no political leanings.
