It hurt to read this

What hurts me is to be discussing something with an individual, perhaps informing me about something I am considering buying and hear them say: "To be perfectly Honest".
My mind just drifts. Where has this person been lying to me? I understand honesty, but how is this person going to be "Perfectly Honest"?

Totally agree John, the phrase “to be perfectly honest” is one of those throw-away statements that makes whatever else is being said sound suspect.
