Sorry if this is stupid question. Is there a place that anyone can recommend to order something simple as replacement impeller?
I started engine yesterday to charge batteries and just have it run for a little while and it was running but was making a screeching sound which I don't know if its belt making a sound or what but the cover for the impeller looks pretty green and I didn't see any water coming out of the exhaust except smoke.
So at this point I'm thinking of changing the impeller with gasket and maybe doing other maintenance like changing oil and oil filter.
I'm trying to figure out where to buy all these parts and I do prefer online and if I can avoid West Marine since its really expensive. Engine is 1GM I thin its 6 or 8 HP

Hi Kommy,
I've seen Yanmar 1GMs described as both 6.5 & 7.5 horse engines, I say 7.5, since I could use the extra horses.
On this page they have pictures of what you need for the water pump, the pump gasket and the impeller: http://crowleys.com/impellers . Unfortunately Yanmar limits where places can sell parts, so you will have to search for Florida distributors. Prices may vary slightly, but are pretty close regardless. Buy 2 impellers and several gaskets to have as spares.
They show filters here: http://crowleys.com/filters. On top of changing the oil filters, change the fuel filter on the engine and the external one (if you have one). I pulled this part number for an oil filter out of an old email: Yanmar, part number: 119305-35151, description: OilFilter.
I also have both the Clymer's and Seloc repair manuals, the info is slightly different, or presented differently. I don't have a ton of experience repairing engines, so it helps to have both to refer to. Might also be stuff uploaded to the site or do a search.
Good luck!

You can also frequently find these parts on eBay.

Here is a local dealer. Go visit the parts person and ask questions. There are other Yanmar dealers in your area too

The number I have for the impeller is Yanmar 128176-42071, about $32, gasket is Yanmar 128170-42090, about $6.. Ya may want to close the seacock and remove the cover then turn the engine by hand (compression released) to make sure the shaft is turning and the impeller is turning and stuff. Yanmar controls the parts territories aggressively so ya won't find a deal on Yanmar branded parts. Sometimes you can find the same impeller sold by someone else but ya have to be sure the drive and the dimensions are exact.. That impeller is 32mm in diameter and 12mm wide..
Not sure the savings from E-Bay are worth the risk..??
