So my 1983 H31 has had a small leak dripping on the countertop for quite a while. Since we never use the Icebox, I had not noticed, that it had been soaking into the frame rail for the icebox hatch. Well this weekend, the hatch fell in. LOL

The hatch was corner nailed, and stapled at the top to the 1/2" countertop plywood.

The nails, and staples have all rusted away, and the plywood is too soft at this edge to reattach well with staples.

The remaining material behind the rail is the foam insulation for the Icebox.

I am looking for a way to securely reattach this frame rail, without having to remove and replace the whole dang countertop. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am trying to get the boat set for a trip to Bimini over the Memorial Day weekend, and I now have a reason to use the Icebox for the first time.

Long legged "L" bracket to stabilize both sides? Gorilla glue or epoxy to fill in the gap in the corner?

What sort of adhesive would stick to that foam insulation?

Do those come in stainless? or should I just use Galvanized
I don't know. I get the impression you're looking for a quick, temporary fix. Your photo makes it look like you have good wood to attach to away from that corner. My thought would be to screw the L bracket from below into the good wood, which should stabilize the corner. Then epoxy or what ever into the gap in the corner to seal it.
