My ST60 wind gauge and masthead unit bit the dust. I have purchased an i60 unit to replace it, but have read that installing it and connecting it to the other ST60 instruments can be a challenge. Has anyone done this and got any tips? Thanks, all.

You will need to purchase a Seatalk1 to Seatalk ng converter Raymarine Part number E22158

very easy installation inside the Navpod box.

I purchased a i60 gauge and it came with everything I needed. No additional purchases needed.:)

The challenge is the mast wire pull and the gauge wire pull.

If he has a ST60 wind transducer run to that spot it will plug straight into the i60. The i60 range was designed to be the crossover from ST60s into the NMEA2k/SEATALKng world. As other note you'll need a converter to ng, but is is a simple $100 dongle.

Thanks, Byron - I ordered that kit, too, but had been reading that Raymarine’s documentation was not very good. Guess we’ll see!

Thanks, everyone - I will be plugging it into an existing ST60 navpod and don’t think I will need to pull cable or wire. I have the converter kit coming, too.

You have to drill some new holes for the mounting screws to go thru so have a drill ready. Otherwise it fit right into the old mounting hole.
I re-used my old wires and old vane on top of the mast. No issues.

Thanks for the tip on the mounting screws. I will make sure to have a drill on board. My old masthead unit was fried, so I have a new one.

Do I need to use the connector bar to make the connection or can I just use the conversion cable and daisy-chain it to the other instruments?
