Hunter 30 sailing pic

We have a 1989 Hunter 30 with the transom cutout and a headsail furler below deck.
I'm looking for a sailing photo from anyone who has decent sail shape around the bow pulpit with this setup.
I don't think the lower part of our jib does any good at all unless we are sailing downwind.
I'm thinking I need to use a shorter jib to raise the foot up to fix it.

Please comment if you have a pic, or a better idea.

Yes you want the sail at or about 4" below the life lines and on a hard up wind run you could pull sail in tight inside the life line but that hurts sail shape around spreaders. I pulled furler from below deck and mounted out front bow to increase my "J" length and use a New furler
