Hull moisture

I had my Hunter 49 hull inspection and was told I have a higher than usual moisture level reading on my starboard bow area with a reading of 22%. Just wondering what would be the cause and what is the solution. Boat is 2008 Tall rig

If you know the area, the first thing to do is check what is immediately adjacent to it on the interior. Moisture meters measure capacitance which can be affected by any number of things in proximity.

This is just a wild guess but I'd look for a leak from the anchor locker. Or it could any one of the hardware in that area such as the rail stanchions, bow cleat, windlass and/or windlass foot pedals, forestay mounting.

Just me, but I would be very skeptical of those readings. Waterline readings can be problematic from viewing prior posts. Good luck, but I would not do anything right away and would get several more readings and consider what is on the other side of the hull. If I recall correctly, one issue was them picking up the inner liner adhesive.
