Hour meter failure

I recently noticed that the hour meter on my 1990 Catalina 34 (MX25 engine) stopped moving. Everything else on the panel is functioning.
Any suggestions on a fix? Is there a supplier for new gauges?

Any auto supply (internet supply too.) Assuming it is a standard 2" diameter - about $15 US. Beware - my PO hooked it up to the dash lights so it only ran with the dash lights on. Results were - accordingly - unreliable. So check your wire connections.

You have an M25XP engine. Sometimes those old hour meters get stuck. The simplest solution is to add a separate meter and record the old meter's # so you know total engine hours. The old ones, when they get sticky, are hard to fix, if you can at all.

John the negative reviews were from folks putting them on very smooth runnin engines. There are meters at twice the price that got better reviews. I think he non replaceable battery might turn me off.

Replacements are inexpensive, no sense fooling around with old, fouled instruments. Just connect to the key switch circuit so that every time you turn the key ON it will start counting. The alarm buzzer will kind of insure that every time the key is ON the engine will be started and running.

I have a separate hour meter. It has read "0000.0 " since I have owned the boat. LOL
