About the scariest thing I have ever had happen was backing down a steep wet ramp with my old Grand Cherokee. Put the car in park as I normally would and started to step out. As I stood up, the car started to skid down the ramp. I jumped back in and hit the brakes. Put it in gear stomped on the gas to force the rear wheels to spin, so the center differential in the transfercase would lock, along with both lockers in the axles. Eventually when the front diff locked, I was able to pull out. I since learned to put the transfercase in low range when I back down ramps, so the transfercase is locked.
