Alden 38' Challenger yawl Rockport Harbor
German Frers designed HEROINA for himself to cruise. He was given the wing keel from Stars and Stripes, the famous 12 meter and the rig from another 12 meter.

Pretty boat, clean lines, spare on deck, looks easy to sail. Probably in charter these days (under new ownership), sailing Penobscot Bay.

You see few biminis or dodgers on such boats, Ron. Occasionally a sea hood type "dodgerette" on the mid coach roof entrance or main companionway.

Newport, Camden, and (for Tom Young's sake) Rockport has it's share of these yachts. Professional crews with a mixture of older pros and some young kids that just don't expect the "cruising comforts" or (what we'd call) necessities.

If you're in the Caribbean or the Med, you'd never see one on a maxi -- maybe some hard tops :^))) on a boat the length of decent house lot.

Sitting here in Back Creek in Annapolis with 17-28 knots of wind blown rain out of the ENE, I missed the sarcasm. l^)))
