I am reading tea leaves here, but I don't think PaulJ's problem with the heat exchanger is the bulkhead as it sits lower. Jesse's mod was to give more room for the heating elbow.

Hi Jesse, I see your point, but with a ratchet and extension I have been able to access the bolts that hold the heat exchanger on from the back and then pull it out from the side. I do like your mod.

Did you move your racor there or was it that way from the factory? Mine is down on the side next to the thru hull for the engine.

Just remember if you move the heat exchanger to bond or ground it to the engine so the zincs still work

It was put there by the dealer that commissioned the boat. Its not where it should be because that style isn't supposed to be in the engine room. I haven't found a better place yet. I would love to change to a system with two Racor 500s and set it up for fuel polishing too.
