has anyone ever replaced their halyard on an Oday 222 while the mast is up? How did you splice the lines to draw it through?

Since the splice is temporary and doesn't need to be very strong, just butt the two ends together and stitch back and forth across the joint. Wrap it with some tape to make it smooth and you can pull it through. If it feels tight pulling through the sheaves, work the line gently back and forth until it passes through.
