I am loving using products from the RV industry for sealing, like Dicor which is a flowable always flexible rubber caulking that is used for RV roof penetrations and windows, and Eternabond or similar rubber butyl sealing tape. Both greatly outlast silicone caulk for water proofing and are considered permanent but removable with a scraper and a good amount of effort.

I own a camper and know the product. As for silicon, my preference on boats is pure architectural grade silicon as it lasts longer than other silicone on boats. All is have our ways and thank you for sharing.

Doug, mine was fairly obvious, just look at your lexan and see it is touching the vertical fiberglass sides of the hatch opening. Mine was actually wedging itself between the two .
You're right! When the lexan heats up in the sun, it expands and gets too tight on the sides. I will sand down the sides a little. You're also right about it being obvious. I didn't see it before.
