what is the phrf for the swing (older) vs wing (newer) keel. the general guides have the 22 hunter as a 240. i clwonder which they mean. or is it for both.

PHRF New England has a Hunter 22 as 252. They do not have any other listing for Hunter 22. They do have a Hunter 23 CB listed as PHRF 240. And a Hunter 23 WK as 234. Might you be asking about a Hunter 23?
Sailboatdata.com has a fin keel Hunter 22 and a centerboard Hunter 22 both first sold in 1981. They also list a Hunter 22 -2 which is a 2010 boat by Greg Henderson. And they only list the one Hunter 23 WK.
The reason NE PHRF may not have listing for other than the Hunter 22 listing is that there might not have been an application for a certificate from the others. It is a bit confusing. In addition, is someone submits an application for a Hunter 23 mislabeled as a 22 the error could flow through to the database.

ok. i kinda wondered if the number of folk racing might not be enough to file for a rating. i just look at the 81-85, and the 86-96 h22's. the newer ones look much lighter and faster. i wondered if the 240 was applied more to the later 22 modles. thank you for the reply.
Here is everything US Sailing knows about PHRF ratings for the 2 Hunter 22s, based on reporting clubs. The rather wide variance inside each boat is expected as they boats will not always be sailed to a high competitive level and may have their ratings adjusted based on that.
wow, thank you. ok, so the 250'ish lvl seems to be repeated. very well then. thank you again for the quick responses. the 22 shall be kept in the water at our club, and used more for the family. but i wanted to take it for our beer can Wednesdays racing. we have more catalina 22's in the club, and therefore i would used my cat on the property trailer more for the more serious Saturday and regatta racing. but, you never know. If i enjoy thr '83 22 enough, someone else may inherit the '71 cat.

There were two Hunter 22's not to be confused with. The earlier in the 80's was a normal sailboat with a cabin. The newer one simply replaced the 216 as it was made of ACP but improved boat built out of fiberglass. Two different altogether boats.

I guess he knew that Dave, but was trying to figure out what his boat rated, and which of the ratings he found were for his boat.
