The rubrail on our 2004 Hunter 260 has separated from the hull. It is glued on, not screwed. What adhesive should I use to reattach it?

I figured out the issue. The rail is screwed to the boat. The bottom section has split from the top and hangs loose. I'd like to not replace the entire rail. Would 5200 glue them back together or is there a better adhesive for the "Rubber"?

Once split you will not find really anything to glue it back together . How much of the base was affected? You are correct the base is screwed on but he threads were coated with 5200 with an extra squirt in a circle around the hole. Suggest taking one screw out to get the precise length. You can cut and screw a new section in place. First a photo and how much affected are we talking about.

Unfortunately Crazy Dave has the answer, nothing really sticks to rubber and the flexing would pop it apart anyways. Screwing in a new section sounds like the best option.
