Good choice. I did the same thing this past March. Ford makes a great truck and I plan on towing about 8-9000 lbs next year when I 'semi' retire. I got the V8 as well.My mileage averages 11.3l/100km (21 U.S mpg) combination city and highway.

Yeah...just don't buy a Dodge, whatever you do...you'll spend more time underneath it than driving it. I owned a 2008 Dodge 1500 before I was given my current 1994 Chevy C1500, and the ole' Chevy has WAY fewer problems than the "new-and-improved" Dodge ever had. It can't tow as much, but it's far more reliable and cheaper to maintain.
