G26 Centerboard

Hey,

Past owners have totally neglected the CB.

I have no data on the cable or the centerboard, but need to look at fixing this. Can anyone provide me with anything on the CB. I've been to the Grampian Owners website where one gentlemen described the pain he had in getting the CB out of the trunk, but there were no descriptions, drawings or photo's of the cable or anything.

Any help would be appreciated.

The previous owner of my boat replaced the cable with a bigger dia. cable and fixed where the cable attached to the CB because it had ripped out.
The problem was that the cable dia. was too big for the winch and I had to replace the winch. The other problem I had was with zebra muscles up in the keel slot because of the previous owner not using the CB and it would not come down.
My friend had a problem also. The bolts that attach the pivot point brackets to the bottom of the keel rusted off and he had to drill them out and tap new bolt holes. It is a good idea to inspect the CB when the boat is on the hoist.
