Fridge Drain

We just purchased a 423. The drain in the fridge backed up and stunk! Fixed that but any suggestions for us to deodorize.

I would first follow the recipe in this thread that is used to recommission water sources on the boat. Run diluted bleach thru the drain lines and let it set for some time. See: https://forums.sailboatowners.com/index.php?threads/flushing-the-water-tanks.174022/#post-1233666
If that doesn't do the trick, if it were me, I would increase the concentration of the bleach and repeat. Bleach may not be that great for the pump but I think you have little choice but to nuke it.

A gallon or more of vinegar, it takes a bit longer, but causes no harm to your system.

If fridge is electric that drain should usually be plugged closed with some sort of stopper. If it is an ice box then the drain should have a trap to prevent cold air from dropping through it.

My 351 uses the same pump as the bilge, crossover switch for one or the other under the starb side

Clean the filter out then carefully pour vinegar directly in drain from refrig side and pump through hose to sit.... pour a little in freezer drain..... again just let it sit. I find the drain sucks and water will flow right out of fridge when a lot of water is introduced.

Once cleaned properly it will be fine
