i want to make a board to attach my batter charger. Just a simple set up so that I can attach the board higher in the battery locker and then attach the charger to the board. The board will be attached with 4000 vs drilling additional holes in the fiberglass. The board will be pine. I plan to fiberglass it before installing it. My question is should I gel coat the board after I fiberglass it. Thanks for your help

I'd paint it with a high-end exterior grade paint. Prime it with a classic wood sealer first and it should outlast your boat.
