Exhaust Riser replacement

Fresh water cooled engine raw water exhaust in the riser how long should it last or be replaced before it rusts out sitting in a salt water slip.

Hi Brian , I have a Yanmar in my 42 and the maintenance schedule is 5years or 500 hours. I changed it out last year and it had been 12 years. John (Chevy )
