In what is probably a futile attempt at minimizing the various sources of RF and electrical noise on HF, I just ordered a Elecraft K3s. Hope the filtering, NB and DSP will cut down the noise floor compared with my current barn door receiver on the old Icom 735

Time will tell...

In summertime here in Fl, playing radio marine mobile tied to the dock is about the only use the boat will get until October.

And we will be heading out to Catalina in the next few weeks and that means radio time.

If you get on the 14300 net I think most of us can keep in contact with you. I might be too close though, but I will listen. Or in the morning at 8am on the Baja net. 7233.5 KHz.

Now that I can put the radio in the boat anytime, should be a non-issue. Thinking of rebuilding my 20m dipole. The one I built has an SWR of 1.5:1. Nothing to cry foul over but it bugs me that I know it could be better. LOL
