Never thought that those boats made a lot of sense but I rented one on Lake Seneca (NY) and had a blast and great family time....

Thinking about buying a SUN TRACKER® PARTY BARGE® 22 XP3..... Geez....

Pontoon boats are really a nice option. My wife and I have a cottage on an inland lake in Northern Michigan. We bought an older 20 foot pontoon boat for a lot less $$ than I spent on my CP-22 of the same age, and are enjoying it with family and friends. Nice picnic/swim/fishing platform, and great for a nice evening cruise on the lake. Sailing is still my preferred way to be on the water, but there are times when the pontoon makes good sense.
