Looking for like minded (laid-back, relaxed) sailors to help us explore the Channel Islands National Park area, launching from LA area in mid-june, exploring through the end of the month. We are beginning/intermediate sailors, on our new-to-us O'Day 25. Would love folks who have traveled and sailed in this area!

) is to travel nearer the coast & across Santa Monica Bay to Paradise Cove & anchor the night, then up to Channel Islands or Ventura harbor the next day; spend the second night at a marina. Then head across the East Santa Barbara Channel 18 n.mi. to Little Scorpion Anchorage, the closest one, and start the exploration from there. I made five legs along that latter route in 2017 (but without stopping)--down & back from Ventura Harbor to Long Beach; down & back once again, and then down to relocate the Bavaria in Alamitos Bay on December 18. When heading up it's best to be underway early-I mean by 0600. If lucky you'll be dropping the hook by the time the afternoon winds start filling in from your direction of travel.
