faris, first let me say we agree on subtantially everything. i only brought up credentials, for the first time on this forum because people were throwing terms around without stating their credentials to understand or explain the term. of course we are talking about complex problems and i agree the best thing to do first is to determine if the the problem is a real one. i happily bought a catalina boat and have great faith in the company and its parts department so i will continue to buy parts from them regardless what others claim their parrs are made from. it took me years to get an anwer about whether i need to paint my bottom every year. the only anwers i got - all yes - were from people who sold paint or charged to paint bottom. then i change insurance companies and needed a survey, and the surveyer said my season old paint jobs was still fine and over the years since have saved big bucks with no problem. we agreee, beware of advice from salesmen.
